THE QUEEN OF THE CREEK

From the subways of Harlem, USA to a Soweto Church in South Africa, the

mountains of Japan to the bars, pubs, and clubs of Melbourne. Tracey Miller has

triumphantly sung her songs and connected with people throughout the world with

the power of her music and voice. Miller sings songs of hope, passion, love and loss,

drawing deeply on the well-spring of traditional Gospel, soul and Rhythm and Blues.

Singing folk and blues music since she was 15 years old, Tracey has found herself a

matriarch in Melbourne’s vibrant scene.

When you hear her voice, you’re getting the real deal. There’s no bullshit in Tracey’s

approach to singing. After years of working solidly and sharing the stage with

lauded musicians including Betty Harris, Ross Wilson, Continental Robert (to

name a few) Miller has finally decided to record again and is having somewhat of a

renaissance at the insistence of her daughter’s band JAZZPARTY and musicians like

Harry James Angus (The Cat Empire) and Lachlan Mitchell (Laneous).

JAZZPARTY have featured Tracey as a special guest in their shows for many years

and are helping her to hit back at ageism and sexism in the arts.

“When my mother takes the stage at our shows, audiences are shocked by her, they’re

lifted and completely in awe of her, she steals the show every time”. - Loretta Miller

JAZZPARTY

Because of this push, Tracey has recently recorded a new album of soul/blues music

taking influences from her time spent working and singing abroad as well as

drawing on her experience of being an older woman in an industry that is far from

kind. Featuring some of Melbourne’s best players, co-produced by Darcy McNulty

and Loretta Miller, engineered by Grammy-nominated Erick Jaskowiak and mixed

by Grammy-nominated Nick Herrera (Emma Donovan, Hiatus Kaiyote).

This forthcoming album is an announcement that it’s finally Tracey’s time.

Don’t miss any opportunity to see her perform.
